Dispatch Coordinator — Phone, scheduling, and customer follow-up — Bellevue, WA
Operations role — not a field plumber position. You answer the phone, qualify the job, dispatch the nearest tech, send the homeowner a plumber-on-the-way text, and follow up after the job. This is the role that determines whether a homeowner gets a real human voice at 2am or hits voicemail. The contractor hiring for this role takes that personally — a real person on every call, including overnight rotation.
What you'd be doing
- Answer inbound dispatch calls 24/7 on rotation (overnight is 1 week in 4, paid premium)
- Qualify the job — water spreading? Where? How long? — and dispatch the nearest licensed tech
- Send live ETA texts with the plumber's photo and name
- Schedule non-emergency follow-up appointments and parts runs
- Post-job customer follow-up calls — verify satisfaction, request a Google review
- Maintain dispatch logs, photo documentation, and customer files
What you bring
- Excellent phone presence — calm under pressure, especially during emergencies
- Familiarity with the Bellevue Eastside geography (Bridle Trails ≠ Bellevue Downtown)
- Comfortable with dispatch software and customer relationship tools
- Willingness to take overnight on-call rotation (~1 week in 4)
- Strong written communication for the customer text and email layer
Skills we're looking for
- Phone-based customer service in high-stakes situations
- Geographic dispatch optimization
- Customer relationship and review follow-up
- Light technical knowledge — be able to triage a plumbing call
- Documentation and record-keeping
Compensation and benefits
- Hourly rate $22–28 plus overnight on-call premium
- Health insurance, paid time off, and 401k via the contracting company after 90 days
- Remote-friendly for non-rotation shifts (some weeks fully from home)
- Quiet, supportive office in Downtown Bellevue for in-office shifts
- Path into operations management for the right person
Schedule
Full-time with rotating overnight on-call coverage (~1 week in 4)
